Barcelona is amazing.
Just a 1.5 hour flight from London this city has made me finally feel like I'm back in Europe. It'd been 7 or so years since I have!
The weather is a bit warmer here, either that or it's just because the sun is shinning. The hotel is great with working shower pressure and foods beds.
The first thing we did was head out to la rambla and check it out which turned into a walk for hours across the city. The greatest thing about just walking around is you discover the most random things. Example, we found our 2nd hotel and then took a random left at some cathedral. Next thing we are in a street market that sells antique everything. From stamps, used postcards from the 60s and even original stock purchase slips from 5 decades ago. Next to this market we hear noise and discover a bunch of street performers doing some crazy urban breakdancing.
That night we decided to go for diner, Spanish style. This meant waiting till at least 10pm which we soon discovered was probably even too early. When in Spain, have tapas. This was a good idea but two guys who have no idea how to go about this was something to work out. Eventually we did and we got about 10 dishes of different things. Tapas is a great invention. We finished off the night by going to a place in this placa sitting outside near the heater and polishing off a bottle of Rioja at midnight.
Barca is an awesome city full little streets with an unbelievable amount of restaurants.
The weekend should be good.
